Join us for a fun-filled event where we explore the beauty of nature through art! At Artelier Studios by PaintSpot.ca, located at 81 Avenue Northwest, Edmonton, AB, Canada, we will provide you with everything you need to unleash your creativity. THIS IS NOT AT THE PAINT SPOT. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS AT THE ARTELIER, FURTHER WEST AND IN THE ALLEY!
No inkling about natural inks? No skills with quills? Join us for an innovative day of exploring what calligraphic tools we can find in our natural environment. And no worries if it’s frigid outside – our instructors will be bringing nature to you. During the day you will learn how to make and be creative with natural inks and pens made from locally gleaned materials.
Morning: Ink from mushrooms
Carol Wagner will show you how to mix the ingredients needed to create a mushroom ink. Then, using a credit card, you will experiment with the ink to create a watercolour landscape and cards.
Afternoon: Pens from nature
Jeanine Alexander will do a short guided session on Monoline Italic lettering and demonstrate feather art and ‘natural pens’.
All supplies for both sessions will be provided.
Bring a lunch or go out to eat!
