‘Fall’ing for French Ronde”: A team approach

Learn to Letter

Jeanine Alexander will provide basic instruction in the French Ronde script to start our session. This upright hand is very useful for lengthy pieces like diplomas and verse.

Learn to use your Letters

Brenda Foster will teach you how to achieve the Textures of Autumn with her take on tissue paper watercolour painting. You will have the opportunity to try the technique on some ready made cards and add your lettering for a wonderful seasonal card.

Supplies (lettering)

  • T-square or ruler
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Scissors
  • Parallel Pens or Sakura Calligrapher markers – details below

Paper will be supplied for lettering

The instructors will have extra pens and blow dryers to lend

If you choose to bring Parallel Pens:

  • 3.8mm (green cap) for instruction
  • Smaller sizes (pink/red/orange caps) for the project

If you choose to bring Sakura Calligrapher markers:

  • Size 30 for instruction
  • Size 10 and 20 for the project

Supplies (project)

  • Watercolour paints
  • Medium size brush
  • Water container
  • Small towel or paper towel
  • Exacto knife
  • Cutting mat
  • Glue stick or 2-sided tape
  • Bister inks or Schminke powders (optional)

If you don’t have any Bister inks or Schminke powders, find some on the “Share Table”
