CHOPSTICK LETTERS AND PAPER STRUCTURES – IN-PERSON EVENT!
It’s the year of the Dragon, so this is a great time to explore making marks and letters with chopsticks! Join Gail Fournier at The Artelier for our February 24th Mentor Meetup.
In the morning we’ll play with our chopsticks and ink, learn a couple of simple Hands, and make designs that you might use to decorate your envelopes.
In the afternoon, we’ll use the practice papers you bring from home, and/or some you create with your chopsticks in the morning, to make a variety of intersting paper structures.
Here’s what you will need to bring:
Supply List
· Ink or Gouache you wish to use for lettering.
· Pencil and Eraser
· Ruler
· Scissors
· Glue
· Small paper cutter or Xacto knife and cutting mat.
· Bone folder (if you have one)
· Embossing Tool with a medium ball (if you have one -a ballpoint pen with no ink would substitute)
· Paper you like to use for practising calligraphy (something that doesn’t bleed…Rhodia, Clairfontaine, or 120 g/m2 copy paper)
· Old calligraphy practice papers you don’t mind cutting up for the paper structures.
Remember to bring your water bottle and lunch or go to a nearby restaurant. Dress in layers so you are comfortable.
