How to Register
To register for a class or workshop, either:

1. Register at an ECS General Meeting
ECS members are invited to register for classes and workshops at ECS meetings by submitting a completed registration form and a cheque for the full registration fee. Registration dates for particular classes will be distributed through Ink Drops (our online members newsletter). Registration will only be accepted at the designated meeting, and not at subsequent meetings. Registration cheques are to be made payable to the “Edmonton Calligraphic Society”. Post-dated cheques will not be accepted.

2. Complete the registration and payment form on Eventbrite
Registration to classes and workshops is offered to both the general public and ECS members via Eventbrite. Details on how to register via Eventbrite, including the day on which registration opens, are provided on the event-specific pages listed in the Upcoming Classes and Workshops section below. Note that when you register through Eventbrite, an additional service fee may apply.

Registrations are not accepted by mail or through the ECS website.

You will be notified of your registration status by email or phone as early as possible.

The minimum and maximum number of participants at any workshop or course will be dependent upon financial requirements, the instructor’s wishes, and/or the facilities available. If the minimum number of participants is not obtained, the course may be cancelled (at the discretion of the Workshop Chairperson).

Once the minimum number of registrants has been reached, registration cheques will be deposited into the ECS bank account.

Registration for upcoming classes/workshops is offered first to ECS members at General Meetings. If you are unable to attend the General Meeting, or are a non-member, you will be able to register online through Eventbrite. Eventbrite registration is typically opened the day following the General Meeting. Spaces in a class/workshop are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Waiting List
Once a class or workshop has been filled, a waiting list will be established. To inquire about being put on the waiting list, contact the Workshop Chairperson listed on the event registration page.

Refunds & Cancellations
If you have registered for a class or workshop but cannot attend, it is your responsibility to sell your spot to a person on the class/workshop waiting list. The Workshop Chairperson will help facilitate this process, if possible. Please contact the Workshop Chairperson to be put in touch with someone on the waiting list. Note that a waiting list may not be established, and as such you may not be able to sell your spot.

In general, refunds will not be issued if you cannot attend a class/workshop for which you have registered. Emergency-related cancellations will be handled at the discretion of the Workshop Chairperson. Contact information for the

Chairperson is listed on the event-specific page.

In the event that the ECS or an ECS-hired instructor has to cancel an event, your registration fee will be refunded.
