10:00am SHARP until 12:00pm an instructor will present some techniques & projects.
12:00pm onwards… Registrants then have the freedom to work in the studio all afternoon.
2:00pm SHARP the ECS Executive will meet in the studio. Everyone is most welcome to stay and participate in the meeting or to keep working on their projects.
Cost: Pick any class you like for $25/each or come to all five classes for $100
All classes will be held on the 4th Friday of the month.
May 25 Printmaking Pizazz
Tina Cho will guide us through the discovery of a collage printmaking method called collagraph. Participants will create a relief plate by gluing various textural materials onto it and then protecting the surface with a coat of varnish or acrylic medium. Later they will print the plate using the relief printing technique; however, the plate could also be printed as intaglio. Participants will incorporate some form of calligraphic elements into the design of the plate.
April 27 A to Zentangle
Jackie Doll will discuss, with samples, how to zentangle. We will construct an entire alphabet of zentangles and build a Jacob’s ladder to put the letters in.
March 23 Bleach on Black
Margaret Lammertz will demonstrate the amazing compositions you can make with simple bleach on black paper.
February 24 Wearable Book Art
Sonja Idema will guide us in creating intricate miniature accordion books to be worn as necklaces, broaches, etc.
January 27 Create…create….create with Nadia Munarolo-Kurjata

* exacto knife

* cutting mat
* paint brush
* water container
* apron
*If you do not have all of these items, not to worry, as the teacher will have some extra to use.
*The workshop will include a mini introduction to carving your own stamp. We will then use our stamp to embellish some fabric and we will finish off with lettering using a surprise tool! You will have a beautiful piece to keep for yourself or gift to a friend! Also remember that participating in this workshop entitles you to 20% at the paint spot for that day!
