Next Meeting is November 1st. The Letters and Lines Theme is “Remember” and the Lettering Class is Pointed Pen.

You can sign up for the Pointed Pen Lettering Class (for anyone who is not a member of the ECS.)

DIY Christmas Workshop:

November 18           Place: Ritchie Hall, 7727-­‐98 St.

9:00-­‐12:00         and/or       1:00-­‐4:00

Training for this event will be provided at the November meeting. This is an opportunity to participate in a great event and satisfy our fundraising needs for the year all in one day! We still need a few more volunteers.

 

Call for Artists

Edmonton Convention Centre has a call for artists to display work.

Let’s see some calligraphic art up in 2018.

 

The Art Gallery of Alberta

They have small spaces to display your letters!

 

Practice Pads

ECS now has practice pads for sale. $15 each or 2/$25. These are 11×17 pads

with 40 sheets for your beautiful letters.

 

Workshops

We are listening. There will be 2 ONE day workshops in the spring…

Introduction to Italic (6 hours) on April 7

Introduction to Bookmaking (4 hours) on May 5.

 

Next Year

We are busy planning for the Learn to Letter classes for next year AND workshops…communicate your ideas to any member of the Executive Team before December 2/17.

 

Social Media Team

We met at the end of September. Look for a few changes in content as we move forward.

We used sumi ink and walnut ink to make various marks.
