I am interested in joining the groupl. I have dabble around, have taken an introductory course years ago through Metro college and now have more time to devote to calligraphy.

I have a prayer for parents that I would like copied as gifts to my to 2 daughters who are mothers. How can I go about getting anyone to do this for me. And - is it too late to get done for Christmas. And - what is the cost? I don't know to whom this e-mail will go, but I am hoping to hear from someone. Thanx Pat

| Hi Bert. If you're reading this, you can send an e-mail directly to me, and I can answer any questions you have. As far as a beginners course, we will have one starting in January called "Copperlate" just for beginners. When beginners join our guild one of the more experienced calligrapher will spend time explaining pens, inks, paper and other materials etc. A really good book for beginners is the Speedball Book, and it can be found at Michaels. You can buy the Speedball brand nibs and penholder, plus ink at the same store. A very good calligraphic "hand" to learn first is the Foundational, as it is a very vertical and round. I hope you are reading this and you contact us. (see "contact Us" above. ) We'd be happy to help you get started. Regards.. Margaret |

| Hello, Bert. Unfortunately, I did not see your entry until today. I've been a member of the guild for three years and would be happy to answer you questions and help you in any way I can. I hope you have not given up on us and will give us another try. If you leave your email, then someone can pass it on to me and we can connect. Looking forward to meeting you! |
