ECS Meeting Information for Wednesday, September 7, 2022

Hello, ECS Members!

At long last, here is the news which you have been anticipating…We’re on track for our first IN-PERSON gathering in 2 ½ years!!  Our long-awaited meeting will be WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 7 at the Mill Woods Seniors and Recreation Center (MWSRC), 2610 Hewes Way NW, Edmonton, AB, T6L 6W6.  Doors will be open at 5:30 so we can set up all the tables and chairs and begin our meeting at 6 PM with a welcome and short business meeting.  Because we hope to have a large group and will be sitting close together, to help ensure that we keep each other safe, please be prepared to wear a mask during the meeting.

If you have a name tag from previous meetings, please wear it.  Jeanine will be near the door, writing temporary ones for those who don’t have a name tag.  We do anticipate welcoming several new members!  (If you have not already done-so, please complete your membership registration on our Eventbrite links:  Canadian Members’ Link       US/International Members’ Link )  This will ensure that you continue to receive email notices and links to our Winter Zoom meetings as well as receive the monthly on-line Ink Drops newsletter.

We will set up a “FOR THE LOVE OF LETTERS” display table and strongly encourage you to bring a piece of calligraphy you have created since we were last together!  We’ll all be curious to see what you’ve produced after watching all those ZOOM calligraphy/art sessions.  Please add your name to your piece or place a tag with your name on it next to your work.

Our evening activity will be led by Carolyn Wagner, who will instruct us in making a Medicine Pouch Card in preparation for marking Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Day on Sept. 30.

I would suggest you choose a short quote but it’s up to the individual. There are so many good ones to choose from. You may also check out quotes from individuals

such as Chief Crowfoot, Chief Sitting Bull, etc.
